For physical media collectors

Your shelf,
read back
to you.

Arkiv catalogues every disc you own, then does the part a spreadsheet never could: it writes you a Collector Portrait from what is on your shelf, and rewrites it as your collection grows.

Collector Portrait

Arkiv reads your shelf and writes back.

Half your collection is from the 2010s, which tells you something about your tastes and timing: you came of age or came back to film during a decade of technical mastery and genre ambition.

Action and Adventure dominate, but never alone. Drama and Thriller sit alongside them, which means you're after films where spectacle serves character, where the scale of the world matches the size of the stakes. Spielberg leads your directors, but you've balanced him against Villeneuve, Scott, Bay, and Fincher: filmmakers who share his command of image but pursue different kinds of emotional truth. Over 800 copies in, the pattern is clear. You collect films that treat audiences as intelligent, that trust movement and sound and production design to do the heavy lifting.

This is a living room built for cinema that earns its budget.

Arkiv, on a 798-title collection. Unedited.

Beyond the catalogue

Anything can hold a list of titles.

A collection is a record of years of decisions. Arkiv is the only place that treats it that way.

Collector Rank

Level up as your collection grows

Every disc added, watch logged, review written and film lent earns XP toward your Collector Rank, from Newcomer to Legendary Collector. Achievements unlock alongside it: some in your first session, others reserved for collectors who go deep and wide.

Chronicle

Your collecting story, chapter by chapter

Chronicle turns your history into a narrative. The bursts and the quiet stretches on your XP timeline, the milestones worth remembering, and an Archetype Spectrum showing how your taste shifted as the shelf deepened.

Statistics

Statistics deep enough to be interesting

Formats, genres, decades, runtimes and spend, and how the shelf has grown over the years. The People and Studios view names the directors, writers and studios filling your shelves more than you had realised.

Shelf Resonance

Film and TV writing that knows what you own

Arkiv scores every story against your actual shelf and leads with the ones that score highest. A Kubrick retrospective surfaces because Kubrick is on your shelf. Not a general news feed with your name on it.

Friends

Share the shelf with collectors you know

Send your invite link to the collectors you already know. Once you are friends, you can browse each other's shelves, see where your collections overlap and react to each other's recent finds. Prices, purchase details, condition and notes stay yours, and any shelf can be hidden from friends. Introductions to collectors with similar taste are there too, if you opt in.

The basics

Done properly, underneath all of it.

Formats
4K UHD, Blu-ray, 3D, DVD, HD DVD, VHS and digital. Steelbooks, combo packs and box sets. A combo pack counts as the one copy it actually is, not three.
Migrating
Import a CSV from CLZ, a spreadsheet or anywhere else. Arkiv shows you how it mapped your file before anything is added. Thousands of titles in minutes.
Watch history
Bring your Letterboxd watch logs, ratings and reviews across so your history arrives with you.
Also inside
Pick something for tonight, track upcoming physical releases, know who borrowed what, curated shelves, and digital posters on a vertical TV.
Your data
Yours. Export the whole collection as JSON or CSV whenever you want. Backed up on a schedule. No lock-in.

Before you switch

The questions collectors actually ask.

Will my existing catalogue import cleanly?

Export a CSV and Arkiv maps title, year, format and purchase date, then shows you the mapping to confirm or correct before a single title lands.

Does it handle box sets properly?

Yes. A box set or combo pack is one copy, classified by the highest format inside it, because that is how collectors count.

Can I get my data back out?

Any time, as JSON or CSV, in full. Nothing about your collection is held hostage.

Can friends see what I paid?

No. Friends see your titles, formats, editions, ratings and public reviews, but never prices, purchase details, condition, value, notes, tags or where you bought a copy. You can also hide any shelf from friends.

What does it cost?

Arkiv is free, and everything here today stays that way: no trial period, no card, no paywall on what already exists. Running costs are small enough that free works, and charging for something already free would break the trust the whole project depends on. If a future feature carries a real running cost (barcode scanning, for example, since lookup providers charge per scan), it would launch as an optional premium add-on, never a toll on anything already here.

Add your first disc in under a minute. Your portrait starts writing itself once there are ten.
